Students had their timetable altered for another day filled with activities & discussions yesterday for Focus Day. Students explored personal finances, body image, healthy relationships, and much more while delving into the theme of "Emotional Resilience & Keeping Safe."

Yesterday students were joined again by @medical_mavericks. This workshop introduces numerous careers in the NHS to students & is highly beneficial as they get to experience taking blood, record & print an ECG, try keyhole surgery & much more. Thanks again Medical Mavericks!💉🏥🏫

Sharing some additional highlights from Friday's Minority Fashion visit, where we welcomed a variety of guests, including @crayola_uk , who hosted a very therapeutic workshop for our students using colouring books designed by the team over at FMA. Crayola kindly gifted CGA their 'Colours of the World' crayon packs for our Art department. The subtle shades in this pack was specifically formulated to 'better represent the growing diversity worldwide'! Thank you so much for joining us Crayola, and for your generosity - Students had such a fun afternoon! 🎨🖍️🏫

Today @wearethefma hosted a workshop with our students, discussing the importance of building & fostering a more diverse & inclusive industry within fashion. It was a really informative & successful session as students posed a range of questions to the panel. Thanks for joining us FMA!

Taster day! Today Year 11 students got to experience life at CGA Sixth Form. Students' completion of KS4 is quickly approaching, and with that in mind, they are considering what comes next. Taster day gives students the chance to explore their subject of interest in a realistic environment at CGA Sixth Form. 💻🎨🎭🔬🏫

Earlier this week we had the pleasure of welcoming author, @thejadelb, to host a workshop on relationships & personal agency. The session began with an icebreaker activity, followed by Jade doing a few readings from her book. This gave students the opportunity to discuss parts of the book, reflect & open up conversations on certain tops. It was such an informative session, thank you for joining us Jade!

Last week we were visited by author, Anu Adebogun. Over the course of three days Anu spoke to students about her background and her incredible book-writing experience. Students engaged in a variety of creative writing activities, one of which involved collaborative story building. This exercise helped students project their voices, grow more confident, and understand themselves better! Among all of these wonderful workshops taking place, Year 8 students Sienna and Jannat had the opportunity to interview Anu, with questions they had prepared themselves. What a wonderful Open Evening we had last Thursday. It was great to see so many families joining us to discover more of what CGA has to offer students. We have welcomed more than 1000 guests across all of our academy live events this term! - Thank you all for coming. 🏫🎉

Yesterday for #BlackHistoryMonth, our lunch menu was transformed into an African and Caribbean infused menu - students enjoyed some tasty meals including, Jerk Chicken with rice & peas, red, gold and green Pasta and Beef Chilli with Jollof rice! 🏫🍛

Last week saw @newcollegeoxford visit & deliver the first step of the Step-Up programme to our Year 11 & 12 students. The session focused on: what is Oxford University all about; what is the college system; how are you taught & how you apply. A very informative session for our students - Thank you for joining us!🎓
